Most accountants are generalists pretending to be specialists. We’re the opposite — five areas where we genuinely go deep, with senior CTA-qualified tax advice as the foundation. Beyond the specialisms, we also serve a broader range of sectors and individuals as a full-service firm.
The accountancy market is full of small firms claiming to do everything for everyone. Most don’t. They are competent at the standard work — statutory accounts, compliance, basic tax — and they outsource or refer anything more complex. That’s a perfectly reasonable business model, but it isn’t ours.
The Tax Lead is a Chartered-Tax-Adviser-led practice. The principal adviser is FCCA (Fellow of ACCA), CTA (Chartered Tax Adviser — the highest UK tax qualification), and brings an active Head of Tax — Europe role at a major digital infrastructure operator. That combination of qualifications and depth is unusual in firms of our size, and it is what allows us to genuinely specialise rather than merely advertise it.
Our specialisms have grown to five focused areas — chosen for being technically substantive, places where good tax advice meaningfully changes client outcomes, and areas where we have the experience to do it well. Beyond those, we operate as a full-service firm and are happy to take on engagements across a wide range of sectors and individual situations. The structure on this page reflects that: deep specialisms first, broader coverage second.
Each specialism page covers what we actually do, who it is for, who it isn’t for, and real-world examples of the engagements.
